Ask the Experts Events Slated for Students at ASCO Exhibit Booth at Academy 2018
This November in San Antonio, Texas at Academy 2018 the ASCO Academic Affairs Committee (AAC) will co-host two Ask the Experts ‘pop-up’ events for students/graduate students at the ASCO exhibit booth – Booth 1555. These joint ASCO-AAO events will feature experts from academe and industry who will be available to engage in casual conversations and Q & A with students. Students considering a career in academe and research are the target audience. The first event will be held Thursday, November 8 during the student focus exhibit hall hours of 10-11:30 a.m. There will be food, raffle giveaways and other surprises, and of course an invaluable opportunity for in-depth, one-on-one conversations with distinguished scholars and researchers who are willing to share their career journey and offer advice. The second Ask the Experts event will take place at the ASCO booth (1555) on Friday, November 9 from 10-11:30 a.m. Any student or graduate student interested in gaining insight into optometric research careers and pathways in academia are encouraged to attend.
