Hello, ASCO recently received a request from a student (an OD/Masters in Public Health candidate) to distribute a survey that she has devised about clinic protocols at the schools and colleges of optometry regarding language translation and interpretive services being utilized.Could you take time to read her note below? Thanks so much.
Carol Brubaker
To Whom It May Concern,
My name is Kelsey Whitcomb and I am a current 4th year at SCO, also working on my Master’s in Public Health at the University of Memphis. I’m reaching out to you because for part of my master’s project I am trying to gather data as to the protocols and solutions that your various schools have enacted with regards to language translation and interpretive services available in your school clinics. This project aims to make recommendations to streamline and improve the interpretive services offered at Southern College of Optometry, though hopefully the results will appeal to a wider audience as well.
To that end, I have created a brief survey that I invite you to fill out. The survey can be found here, and takes less than 7 minutes to complete.
(https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/7L3KJNJ). It is open now and will close on July 15.
I hope that the survey results and my final recommendations may be useful to a broader audience than just SCO, so if you would like to receive a copy of the survey results and/or my final project, please email me at kwhitcomb@sco.edu and I will be happy to share with you.
Best,
Kelsey Whitcomb
