Dear Low Vision SIG Members,
During this unprecedented time of COVID-19, ASCO leadership, in concert, with me as the SIG chair, has made the difficult and unfortunate decision to cancel the Low Vision Educators SIG meeting scheduled to take place on July 9-11, 2020.
We are working on making adjustments to our normal meeting operations to find alternate ways of keeping the momentum on SIG projects moving forward and encouraging the peer-to-peer learning that takes place during our in-person meetings. Some adjustments under consideration include:
· Increasing the amount of time we have for our in-person meeting at Academy; and
· Conducting numerous virtual meetings between now and the Academy meeting.
As always, ASCO's number one priority is to create valuable educational events in a safe and healthy environment. ASCO is monitoring federal, state, and local mandates and recommendations, and strives to make the best possible decisions in the best interest of members and staff.
We're hopeful to be able to hold the fall SIG meeting in conjunction with the October Academy meeting in Nashville and will keep you posted as details become available.
