- The special issue of the ASCO Journal devoted to Diversity and Cultural and Linguistic Competence (link enclosed) is now available. It focuses on diversity of our students, faculty and profession and all aspects of cultural and linguistic competence, including professional, organizational and individual responsibility. We will be promoting the issue through a variety of means -- including a Facebook Live event, but would also ask for your help in sharing news of its availability at your school/college.
-In December of 2016 ASCO's DCCC published Case Studies in Cultural Competency (New Cultural Competency Resource). Its purpose is to help users incorporate cultural competency into their teaching or clinical efforts. We are curious to know how you and others at your institution have begun to use the document in your teaching and clinic settings. If you care to share with us how utilization of the compendium is occurring on your campus, we would be most grateful. Please reply to this request via this ASCOConnect forum, so you share your experience with both the DCCC and your counterpart colleagues at all of the ASCO institutions.
