General Program Areas: Curriculum, faculty development and program development in the area of interprofessional education
Charge:
o Examine the educational strategies of other health care professions and identify best practices within and outside ASCO institutions to prepare graduates for team-based practice
o Develop and maintain a list of consultants such as committee members and outside experts to serve as resources for demonstration projects and curriculum development for ASCO member institutions
o Discuss the development of a grant funding process for demonstration projects and consider seeking industry support
o Develop, share and/or recommend strategies for member institutions to incorporate interprofessional education into their curricula
o Raise public and professional awareness of the role optometry has in team-based collaborative patient centered care.
