I received my bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences from Troy University before receiving my Doctor of Optometry from the UAB School of Optometry. I then completed the Pediatrics residency at the UAB School of Optometry, where I saw a very diverse population of patients, including primary care, vision therapy, infant aphakes, mild traumatic brain injury, autistic and developmentally delayed patients, as well as students at the Alabama Institute for the Deaf and Blind. I started as an Assistant Professor at UABSO following residency, where I teach in the Methods and Procedures and Pediatrics courses and see patients in the Pediatrics clinic. I have recently started an Infant Aphakia clinic to increase student interaction and involvement with this patient population. I also serve as the advisor for the UAB student chapter of BSK International Optometric Honor Society.
